The Archer Quality Advantage

Friday, January 29, 2021

Archer customers know that the cost of lubricants is only about one percent of all maintenance costs. They also know that by using superior-quality lubricants, there can be tremendous savings in engine and equipment wear, which is far more costly than the nominal investment of superior lubrication. The Archer difference is the quality advantage of unique formulations.

Balanced Formulations to Extend Equipment Life Cycles

Archer Lubricants are blended in Council Bluffs, Iowa, with precision. Formulations are built from the ground up with the customer in mind—Archer blends lubricants to extend the life cycles of their customers' machinery and equipment, protecting their investment. From base oil to viscosity modifiers and a high-performing additive package, Archer Lubricants are built to last and protect longer.

A careful selection of highly refined base oil provides a higher natural viscosity index, which provides improved year-round lubrication; better resistance to oxidation and thermal degradation, which will prevent deposit buildup, increased viscosity, and sludge; and improved low-temperature performance.

Viscosity modifiers for multi-grade oils are formulated by Archer in Council Bluffs, Iowa, for industry-leading shear stability. This allows the oil to stay in grade longer. It also allows customers to safely extend oil drain intervals when coupled with oil analysis. Archer’s proprietary viscosity modifier in Archer Premium Arpeco 15W-40, Archer Gold Synthetic Blend 10W-30, and Archer Gold Full Synthetic 5W-40 diesel engine oils even provide improved low-temperature performance.

Additive packages are carefully selected for Archer lubricants. Additives improve the functionality of the base oil, minimize destructive processes (such as oxidation), and confer beneficial properties (such as lubricity and cleaning). Archer products are positioned as top-tier, premium options in the marketplace based on unique components of additive packages.

Archer doesn’t just select an additive package and base oil to meet industry and OEM specifications. Archer formulates, in many cases, to exceed specification requirements, providing customer benefits such as optimized inventory, better equipment protection, reduced expense, and peace of mind.
